As the popular saying goes, ‘Health is Wealth’. This inscribes that for you to make a good living for yourself, your health has to be well intact.  The Liver is an important part of the body system, sorely responsible for processing everything we eat and drink in a day, amidst other numerous functions.

With this in mind, let’s take a look at FIVE ways to make your liber strong and hearty:

 

MAINTAIN A GOOD BODY WEIGHT.

An excessive or large body weight puts the body under unnecessary health implications, and this is not good enough for our health. 

So, whenever we notice an increase in weight, we should take measures in making sure they are kept in shape. 

Once your body is in good shape, it keeps you at the peak of your health.

 

PRACTICE SAFE SEX. 

Some may say, ‘What has my sex life got to do with the health of my liver?’, but truth is, it really matters! 

Let’s break this down, shall we?  

Once you have unprotected sex, it can put you at risk of infection like hepatitis, a condition that leads to liver inflammation.  Now, here’s the scary part of it; Hepatitis is difficult to detect at an early stage, thus, leading to a delay in the treatment. 

Hepatitis B and C can be transmitted through having sex with multiple partners or unprotected sex.

 

TAKE OUR MEDICATIONS RIGHTLY.

Due to one or two health complications, some of us may be under the usage of drugs, be it tablets or syrup. Now, let’s ensure we take the doses as prescribed by the doctor or physician. Excessive intake of medication can lead to long-time liver damage, it’s quite sad that some people ain’t aware of this yet. If the doctor says it’s four tablets for the day, please, ensure it is actually four, or else you’re putting your liver in serious danger.

ENSURE YOU MAINTAIN EATING A BALANCED DIET. 

One of the good ways to keep the body healthy is by eating foods in the right proportion. Once this is done, automatically, it affects the liver as well. We should always add colors to our diet by living right and eating healthy.  Mix your veggies with proteins, and ensure Carbohydrates comes in between as well. Consume fruits in good quantities as well, with considerable touches of minerals, fats, and iron. 

For our liver to stay strong, avoid products like junk, processed foods, or even sugar. 

Once these checks are in place, your liver is in a safe condition. Your internal health is so integral. 

 

GET VACCINATED. 

We do not only get vaccinated for Covid 19, we do them for our liver as well. Why? This is to check our liver damage control. As we all know, knowledge is power. So, to acquire the power to fight the negative side the liver comes up with, we need to educate ourselves. 

Getting vaccinated for Hepatitis is such a big deal. This is even more crucial for those with weak immune systems, as they are more prone to hepatitis, or any liver complications in the future. 

So, it’s very essential we take this important step in ensuring our safety.

Some other ways to protect our livers include a low intake of alcohol, avoiding toxins, and a reduction in the consumption of meat and fleshy foods. 

Health is wealth, health is life. So, for us to enjoy these opportunities that life presents to us, we need to be healthy. And once our liver is in good shape, we are just on the right track.
