How to transfer airtime on MTN Share (formerly known as Share ‘N’ Sell) is a service that allows you to transfer airtime (credit) from your MTN account to the accounts of other MTN users.
MTN Share is available to all new and existing MTN prepaid and postpaid users. You can now send and receive airtime for free.
You must change the default PIN, which is 0000, before you may transfer airtime.
To change your MTN Share PIN, follow these steps:
Send an SMS to 777 with your Default PIN, New PIN, and New PIN. Send an SMS to 777 with the text ‘0000 1234 1234’.
You can also update your PIN by dialing *777*Default PIN*New PIN*New PIN# on your phone, then pressing send/ok. *777*0000*1234*1234#, for example, and then send/OK.

You will receive an SMS confirming that your PIN was successfully changed as soon as you update it using any of the options above.
How to use SMS to transfer airtime.
Send an SMS to 777 with the following information: Transfer, Recipient’s Number, Amount, and PIN. Sending an SMS to 777 with the text ‘Transfer 08031234567 1500 1234’ is an example.
You will receive an SMS after sending this message requesting you to confirm that you want to make the transfer by texting ‘YES’ to 777.
How to use USSD to transfer airtime
On your phone, dial *777*Recipient’s Number*Amount*PIN# and then click on send/OK. Dial *777*08031234567*1500*1234# and then send/OK. You will receive a message confirming that the transfer was successful after it has been finished.
Please, note that you can only send money in Naira, not in kobo; therefore, you can send NGN71.00 but not NGN71.99.
You can also transfer between NGN50.00 and NGN5,000.00 at a stretch.
Every day, you can transfer up to NGN100,000.00 from your phone to one or more MTN accounts.
The maximum number of transactions per day is unlimited.

The transaction will not be completed and you will receive an error message if your MTN prepaid account does not have enough airtime to cover the amount you have asked to transfer.
If you have a postpaid account, you can only transfer airtime while your balance is positive. When your account balance is negative, you won’t be able to transfer airtime (-).
If your account balance is N-300.00, for example, MTN Share will be unavailable to you. If your account balance is N1,000.00, on the other hand, you will be allowed to transfer airtime up to the N1,000.00 available in your account.
